Our journey started with a desire to nurture our local community in Harare. However, the call to spread God’s love didn’t stop at city limits. WEPSIC’s mission expanded to Mhondoro, a rural area in Zimbabwe. Recognizing the importance of connecting with people on their own terms, WEPSIC embraces local languages in its ministry. Even without speaking sign language, the spirit of love and acceptance attracted them to WEPSIC. They found a place of belonging, a community where they were valued and understood. Over time, some members of our church began to learn sign language, fostering deeper communication and connection. Remarkably, some deaf individuals even began to regain some degree of hearing. These experiences solidify our belief that love is the most powerful language of all – a universal language that transcends spoken words and cultural barriers.
